on Thursday on Radio 4 at 11am my three part series ‘whatever happened to the working class?’ starts. its rooted in Manchester and tracks the citys relationship with the working class from Engels to Oasis. In the series I ask who the working class are today, whether being working class is about cultural tastes or the job you do and I will also be asking who speaks for the working class today.
Next Saturday I am presenting Saturday Review on Radio 4 and I will be discussing among other things the new Clint Eastwood film.
